Creating a moment just for you where you get to think and not interact with your surroundings can be a bit challenging when you have a family. We mothers tend to put ourselves last on the big list of things to do everyday and we forget that if we are not being taken care of then no one around us will be.
Why is taking time out for yourself is so important
When we are taking care of ourselves we are not stressed, tasks get done, and our hearts are open. Do you find yourself asking your inner you, “Why can’t they see I need a break”? What I’ve learned is that they are not aware of your stress and pain because you are so good at juggling everyday chaois that they (those around you) think you either enjoy it or are not bothered by it. Voicing the need for a break or simply letting your husband, kids, etc. what day and time you are in your sacred space and are not to be bothered is the 1st step to making time for you. I’ve created a monthly-selfcare-schedule to help you decide what days are for your sacred space and how you can use this time wisely.
Comfort Tools for the Space
I recommend preparing what tools you’ll have during that time to yourself before hand so you can maximize your time. Pillows, music, favorite snack, and don’t forget TEA. Tea is one of the most desired drinks on the planet. Tea has healing properties and is the best comfort tool when you are winding down or energizing your day.
